Though more popular in Europe and Asia, these are incredibly versatile windows that include a number of significant advantages. We think that you’ll love them and challenge you to consider the following advantages of this particular style:
- Tilt mode – allows for natural ventilation and protection from precipitation, even when open in this mode. German engineered hardware also allows you to choose just how far you open your window.
- Turn mode – in this mode the window acts like a large casement window, swinging into your room and allowing wide-open access to the great outdoors. It also makes the cleaning of the window and emergency egress much easier than with other window styles.
- Locked/closed mode – when closed, the window, free of any grille patterns, acts as a beautiful frame of the view outside your window. The multipoint locking mechanism ensures a strong seal against the elements and outside air infiltration.
What we are doing to make ours even better!
- When closed our tilt and turn hardware is concealed from view, giving it a clean and elegant appearance.
- The proven strength and durability of the German hardware we use also allows for large and operable windows which meet the green building goals of natural ventilation, passive heat gain (when desired) and natural day lighting within your home or building.
- We work with two small New England glass manufactures who create custom Insulating Glass Units (IGUs) to our specifications. This ensures that we are able to meet your energy efficiency demands.
